How many characters can I create?
Limits by Plan
The number of characters you can create depends on your subscription tier:
- Free — 1 character
- Plus ($12/mo) — 3 characters
- Pro ($30/mo) — 10 characters
- Creator ($50/mo) — 20 characters
Each character gets its own personality instructions, memory store, knowledge base, and conversation history. Upgrading your plan instantly unlocks the higher limit — no migration required.
Managing Your Characters
All your characters live in Settings → My Characters. From there you can edit, duplicate, archive, or delete any character. Archived characters do not count toward your limit but retain all their data.
If you hit your limit and need more slots, you have three options:
- Upgrade to a higher plan at Pricing
- Archive characters you are not actively using
- Delete characters you no longer need (permanent and irreversible)
Downgrading your plan does not delete characters above the new limit. They become read-only until you archive or delete the extras.
