How do I moderate a Stream?
Moderation Controls
Stream hosts have full control over their stream's chat. Access moderation tools from the mod panel (shield icon) during a live stream:
- Delete messages — remove any message from the chat instantly
- Timeout a user — temporarily prevent a user from chatting (1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 1 hour)
- Ban a user — permanently block them from your current and future streams
- Slow mode — require a cooldown (5s, 10s, 30s, 60s) between messages from each user
- Subscriber-only mode — restrict chat to users who follow you
Chat Rules
Set custom chat rules from Stream Settings → Chat Rules before going live. Rules are displayed prominently at the top of the chat panel so viewers see them before participating.
Banning Users
Banned users cannot view or participate in any of your streams. Manage your ban list from Settings → Streams → Banned Users. Bans can be reversed at any time.
Tip Appoint trusted viewers as chat moderators if your stream grows large. They can help manage chat while you focus on the conversation.
