How do I add a custom voice?

Requirements

Custom voice cloning is available on Pro ($30/mo) and Creator ($50/mo) plans. You need a clean audio sample of the voice you want to clone.

Creating a Voice Clone

1. Go to Character Settings → Voice → Clone Voice
2. Upload an audio file: MP3, WAV, OGG, or WEBM
3. Wait for processing (usually 2-5 minutes)
4. Preview the cloned voice and save

Audio Sample Guidelines

• Duration: minimum 30 seconds, ideally 60-120 seconds
• Quality: clear speech, minimal background noise, consistent volume
• Content: varied sentences work better than repeating the same phrase
• Format: lossless formats (WAV) produce better results than compressed (MP3)

Tips for Best Results

• Record in a quiet room with no echo
• Use a decent microphone: even a phone in a closet beats a laptop mic in a cafe
• Speak naturally at a conversational pace
• Avoid whispering, shouting, or dramatic vocal shifts in the sample

Built-in Voices

If you do not need a custom clone, every character can use one of 6 built-in voices: alloy, echo, fable, nova, onyx, shimmer. These are available on all paid plans.
