Can I use voice on mobile?
Supported Mobile Browsers
Voice chat works in mobile browsers with the same quality as desktop:
- Chrome on Android — best mobile experience, full WebRTC support
- Safari on iOS — fully supported. Grant microphone permission when prompted in the iOS system dialog
- Firefox on Android — supported, comparable to Chrome
Setup
1. Open a conversation in your mobile browser
2. Tap the mic icon in the chat input
3. Grant microphone permission when prompted (both the browser and the operating system may ask separately)
4. Start speaking — the character responds in voice
Tips for Mobile Voice
- Use headphones — this is the single most important tip. Without headphones, the character's voice output feeds back into your microphone, causing echo and degraded quality
- Wired headphones give the lowest latency. Bluetooth headsets work but may add a 50-200ms delay
- Stay on WiFi — cellular connections can introduce jitter. If you must use mobile data, 4G/LTE minimum is recommended
- Lock screen orientation — some browsers restart the audio session when the screen rotates
Known Limitations
- Safari on iOS occasionally drops microphone access after the phone locks or you switch apps. If this happens, refresh the page and re-grant permission
- Background mode — voice sessions end if you switch to another app or lock your phone. Return to the Dyva tab to restart
- Do Not Disturb — on some Android devices, DND mode blocks microphone access for web apps
For the best mobile voice experience, use Chrome on Android with wired headphones on a WiFi connection.
