Voice streaming needs a stable connection with low latency. If you are experiencing choppy, delayed, or garbled audio:
Switch to WiFi — cellular data often introduces jitter that degrades voice quality
Reduce network load — pause downloads, streaming video, or other bandwidth-heavy tasks
Move closer to your router — weak WiFi signal causes packet loss
Check your speed — voice requires at least 1 Mbps up and down for a smooth experience
Microphone Quality
Built-in laptop mics pick up significant ambient noise — fans, keyboard clicks, room echo. An external mic or headset mic produces noticeably better results
Phone mics — hold the phone steady and speak directly toward the microphone
Noise cancellation — if your browser or OS has noise cancellation enabled, it can sometimes cause artifacts. Try toggling it off
Custom Voice Clone Quality
If your cloned voice sounds unnatural or distorted, the issue is usually the source audio:
Use a longer sample — 60-120 seconds produces much better clones than the 30-second minimum
Clear speech only — background music, other speakers, or ambient noise degrade clone quality
Consistent tone — avoid switching between whispering and shouting in the same sample
Re-upload — you can replace your voice sample at any time from Character Settings → Voice → Clone Voice
Browser Performance
Voice uses WebRTC, which competes for browser resources:
Close unnecessary tabs — each open tab consumes memory and CPU
Disable heavy extensions — ad blockers and privacy extensions can interfere with WebRTC connections
Update your browser — older versions may have WebRTC bugs that affect audio quality
If the issue persists after trying all of the above, contact support with details about your setup (browser, OS, mic type, connection type) so we can investigate.
