Try these steps in order: 1. Check browser permissions — click the lock icon (or site settings icon) in your browser's URL bar and make sure microphone access is set to Allow2. Refresh the page — sometimes the audio context needs a fresh start3. Close other apps — make sure no other application (Zoom, Discord, FaceTime) is using your microphone4. Try a different browser — if Chrome is not working, try Firefox, or vice versa5. Restart your browser — fully close and reopen it, not just the tab
Browser-Specific Troubleshooting
Chrome
Go to chrome://settings/content/microphone and confirm Dyva is in the allowed list
If blocked, remove the block entry and refresh the page to get a new permission prompt
Firefox
Click the lock icon in the address bar, then click Connection secure → More Information → Permissions
Set microphone to Allow
Safari (iOS)
Go to Settings → Safari → Microphone and make sure it is enabled
Safari on iOS sometimes silently blocks microphone access after updates — toggling the setting off and on can fix this
Hardware Issues
Test your mic — use your operating system's sound settings or an online mic test to confirm the hardware works
External mics — if using USB or Bluetooth, make sure it is selected as the input device in your OS audio settings
Permissions at the OS level — on macOS, check System Settings → Privacy → Microphone. On Windows, check Settings → Privacy → Microphone
If none of the above works, contact support with your browser name, operating system, and a description of what happens when you click the mic icon.
