What are collections?
Overview
Collections let you organize characters into named groups for easy access later. Think of them as playlists for characters — curate a set of favorites, group characters by theme, or build a list of recommendations to share with others.
Creating a Collection
1. Go to /collections and click New Collection
2. Give your collection a name (e.g., "Study Buddies", "Fantasy RPG", "Daily Companions")
3. Optionally add a description
4. Click Create
Your new collection is empty by default. Add characters to it from anywhere on the platform.
Adding Characters
You can add a character to a collection from two places:
- Character card — click the bookmark icon on any character card in Explore, search results, or the Feed. Select the collection you want to add it to.
- Character profile page — click Add to Collection below the character description and choose a collection from the dropdown.
A character can belong to multiple collections simultaneously.
Managing Collections
From your /collections page you can:
- Rename a collection by clicking its title and editing inline
- Edit the description to update what the collection is about
- Reorder characters by dragging them into your preferred order
- Remove characters by clicking the remove icon on any character within the collection
- Delete a collection entirely — this removes the collection only, not the characters themselves
Sharing Collections
Every collection has a Share button that generates a public link. Anyone with the link can view the collection and browse the characters in it, even if they do not have a Dyva account. Shared collections are read-only — viewers cannot modify your list.
Share links are useful for recommending a curated set of characters to friends, posting on social media, or embedding in blog posts.
Tip Pin your most-used collection to the top of the list by clicking the pin icon. Pinned collections appear first on your collections page and in the quick-add dropdown.
Note Collections are private by default. Only people with the share link can see a collection — it does not appear in search or on your public profile unless you explicitly share it.
