How do I change my avatar?
Your avatar is the profile image that represents you on Dyva. It appears on your profile page, in chat headers, and on marketplace listings for characters you create. Setting a recognizable avatar helps other users identify you at a glance.
How to Change It
- Go to Settings and select the Profile tab
- Click your current avatar image (or the placeholder if you have not set one yet)
- Select an image file from your device
- The upload processes immediately and your new avatar appears
- JPEG, PNG, and WebP are accepted
- Maximum file size: 5 MB
- Images are automatically cropped to a square and optimized for different display sizes across the platform
- No need to resize or crop beforehand — the system handles it
Where Your Avatar Shows
Your avatar appears in several places:
- Your public profile page
- Chat conversation headers and message bubbles
- Marketplace creator pages for characters you have published
- Follower lists and leaderboard entries
- Comments and ratings you leave on other characters
First-Time Setup
If you are new to Dyva, you can also set your avatar during onboarding. The flow prompts you to upload a photo as part of your initial profile setup. You can skip this step and add one later from Settings.
Removing Your Avatar
To go back to the default placeholder, open Settings, click your avatar, and select Remove. This clears your custom image and reverts to the system default.
Note Avatar changes take effect immediately, but cached versions may take a few moments to update in active conversations. Refreshing the page will show the latest version.
